ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to support our legal, HR, commercial services and real estate efforts across a range of corporate, employment, vendor/supplier, and property-related matters. Our goal is to proactively and creatively manage all contracts, documents, agreements, business licenses, and other documentation with a commercial lens and long-term strategic mentality. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Project Management, this role is critical to enable the Nando’s USA business grow sustainably and achieve our ambitious objectives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively to ensure legal compliance and operational excellence. As with all members of the Nando’s family, this role will be expected to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make Nando’s and themselves better every day, and in general, be a good team player!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Law Support – Contracts, Compliance & Governance
- Draft, review, and manage a variety of corporate documents including NDAs, vendor agreements, and partnership contracts.
- Maintain organizational records, board resolutions, and assist with compliance filings.
- Support legal due diligence and documentation for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
Employment & Labor Law Support – HR Legal Operations
- Partner with HR to prepare and maintain employee contracts, offer letters, and separation agreements.
- Assist in internal investigations, employee disputes, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Monitor employment law developments and help ensure policies remain compliant across jurisdictions.
Real Estate Law Support – Lease & Property Management
- Review and manage commercial lease term sheets, lease agreements, amendments, and renewals for restaurant locations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel on property transactions, title reviews, and zoning matters.
- Maintain organized records of real estate documentation and ensure timely execution of legal obligations.
Legal Operations & Administrative Support
- Organize and maintain legal files, databases, and contract management systems.
- Organize and maintain all required business, health, and other operating licenses for 50+ restaurants.
- Organize and maintain the Company’s Contract Lifecycle Management platform and agreement repository.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or memos for internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with external legal counsel and agencies to support ongoing legal matters and projects.
Additional Responsibilities - Assist with projects and team efforts as needed.
Work Arrangement
This is an executive role based in Washington, D.C. The role requires a strong in-person presence to lead cross-functional collaboration and engage directly with key stakeholders, while offering flexibility to support strategic planning and external engagements.
Pay Range & Benefits
- $85,000-$95,000

This range is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budget, the qualifications necessary for the position, education, experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks. The above hiring range represents Nando's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal training.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a legal support role, preferably in corporate, employment, or real estate law.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
- Familiarity with contract management systems or legal tech tools.
