Description
Position Overview
Ballard Rosenberg Golper & Savitt, LLP is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. This role is integral to the firm’s litigation practice and provides direct support to attorneys across all stages of the legal process—from pre-litigation investigation through trial. The ideal candidate brings a professional demeanor, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a hybrid role located in Encino, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare subpoenas for records and for personal appearances
- Assist with document productions, including Bates stamping and organization
- Prepare and manage SharePoint links for document sharing and collaboration
- Ingest, manage, and work within the DISCO e-discovery database platform
- Submit and track Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and Public Records Act (PRA) requests
- Conduct background investigations in support of litigation matters
- Comprehensive trial support including preparing exhibit lists, witness lists, and trial binders; coordinating with vendors; managing trial subpoenas; assisting with courtroom setup
- Redact sensitive information from documents in accordance with legal requirements
- Research California codes and statutory authority relevant to active cases
- Conduct verdict searches and PACER searches as directed by attorneys
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in labor and employment or civil litigation
- Paralegal certification required
- Professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail with the ability to manage and balance ever-changing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Proficiency with e-discovery platforms (DISCO experience a plus), Microsoft SharePoint, and PACER
- Familiarity with California court procedures and rules
