Description

Education:

• High school diploma
• College degree and/or paralegal training preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of the Spanish language preferred
• Excellent writing skills
• Experience with case management software
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Personal Characteristics:

• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and to work well with a variety of people

Job Description:

• Coordinating intake clinics
• Training new volunteers
• Screening applicants for assistance, conducting intake and developing cases for possible referral to pro bono attorneys or special projects
• Developing reports
• Developing new pro bono projects
• Working with other program staff to coordinate volunteer recruiting events, training programs and client programs
• Conducting outreach to legal providers, legal professional organizations and social service groups
• Developing publicity for events
• Facilitating the provision of free legal services to the poor through pro bono volunteers
